PROCESS FOR REGISTERING A NEW RESTAURANT IN PAKISTAN
Opening a restaurant in Pakistan is a widely required and fast-developing business. It requires investment, building, and a license. Every country has policies and rules for opening and registering a new restaurant. To start a restaurant first and very important step is registration& licensing by following food authority rules and regulations.
Hotels And Restaurants Act:
In Pakistan, many ordinances regulate hotels and restaurants. Every province has organizations to carry out this process but the rules of the Punjab Food Authority are strict. For the special regulation of such restaurants, the Pakistan Hotels and Restaurants Act, 1976, and Pakistan Hotels and Restaurants Rules, 1977, were incorporated. The Sales Tax Act of 1990 and the Income Tax Ordinance of 2001 both deal with taxes, therefore the legislation is expanded to cover all aspects. Agreements are managed under Stamp Act and other laws.
Standards For Registration:
The registration of restaurants in Pakistan is carried out based on three standards that are:
- Quality of food
- Atmosphere
- culinary excellence
The atmosphere and meal quality are the main factors that attract people to come in and increase revenue. The other factors should be hygiene and the medical certificates of work to assure that the workers have good health. The building of the restaurant should also be safe and follow the laws.
Process Of Registration:
Every restaurant or hotel owner must have to apply to the controller for registration as soon as the establishment is open. The company is not allowed to start a business without registration/licensing.
After the completion of the registration process, the owner has to start the process of licensing Normally, registration and license are issued at the same time but there is a process of renewal of the license which is carried out after a year. You have to pay a fee fixed by the government every year for license renewal.
